Job summary

Moderna is seeking an AI Engineer in Cambridge, MA to lead the design, implementation, and operation of AI software platforms and cloud deployment patterns for Supply Chain and enterprise Digital. This individual contributor role sets architecture, codes critical components, and mentors engineers while partnering with product & business leaders.

You will drive reference architecture for GenAI, lead cloud deployment governance, and collaborate with SAP/data sources for trusted data products,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
• 4+ years in software, data, or AI engineering with 2+ years in production ML/GenAI/analytics/data-intensive systems.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; strong architecture fundamentals; at least one other language (Java/Scala/TypeScript).
• Frontend experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and a modern framework (React/Angular/Vue/Svelte).
• Backend experience designing production APIs/services (REST/GraphQL).
• Experience architecting/operating LLM/GenAI systems with guardrails and monitoring.
• Experience with secure, compliant, auditable systems in regulated environments (GxP, data integrity).

Responsibilities

• Define the technical strategy and reference architecture for AI delivery and cloud data/AI platforms.
• Lead end-to-end Cloud deployment standards across dev to production environments.
• Build and review critical software components, APIs, and platform accelerators for production readiness.
• Establish AI/ML/LLMOps engineering practices including CI/CD, IaC, testing, versioning, monitoring.
• Guide integration of SAP and enterprise data for Supply Chain, Finance, and Digital stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product, cybersecurity, QA, validation, and infra teams to meet business and security standards.
• Improve platform reliability, performance, cost efficiency, and developer experience.
