Job summary

Moderna is seeking a senior platform engineer to design and operate secure developer platforms and AI-driven workflows. You will shape tooling and policy enforcement across CI/CD, telemetry, and security controls, partnering with cybersecurity and architecture teams to balance security with developer productivity.

You will mentor engineers, guide architecture decisions, and help scale built-in guardrails and reference implementations for the broader engineering community.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software/ platform engineering experience.
• Deep experience designing and operating developer platforms.
• Strong Python or TS/JavaScript skills.
• Experience with GitHub and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with AWS and Docker.
• Security-focused software delivery and supply chain.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design and build secure platform capabilities using Python/TypeScript and AWS.
• Lead AI runtime safety and gateway patterns.
• Package tools and create reusable integration patterns for secure workflows.
• Partner with Cybersecurity and architecture teams on standards.
• Develop templates, docs, and reference implementations for secure development.
• Improve developer experience by reducing setup time.
• Establish and mature operational practices for owned capabilities.
• Influence roadmap by addressing recurring developer pain points.
• Lead integration of secure delivery controls into CI/CD workflows.
• Contribute to Builder Tools priorities across platforms.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards.
