Job summary

Procore is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer for its Workflows team in Austin, TX. You will drive the next generation of construction platform initiatives, aligning with Engineering, Product, UX, and Architects to scale Procore's web platform.

You will establish strategic technical direction, own architecture decisions, and mentor senior engineers while hands-on contributing to core platform evolution and AI-native practices.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years at Principal level or above.
• Experience defining multi-year technical strategies at scale.
• Deep expertise across modern stack (Ruby on Rails, Go, Java, Node.js, Python; React, TypeScript).
• Leadership in AI-native engineering and AI tooling implementation.
• Executive-level communication and influence across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Establish the multi-year technical direction and architecture for foundational platform services.
• Set architectural standards and patterns across the engineering org to unblock critical work.
• Mentor and grow Principal and Staff engineers; lead architecture reviews and strategy forums.
• Define Procore's AI-native engineering approach and evangelize adoption.
• Prototype high-risk bets and write exemplars for the organization, collaborating with VPs and executives.
