Job summary

Gusto seeks a seasoned engineering leader to drive AI-native features and evolve our core payroll platform. You will partner with product managers and stakeholders to own the vision and delivery across the platform and products, while transforming shared services like DevOps and Quality Assurance to be more strategic and AI-enabled.

You will act as a catalyst, champion innovative machine learning capabilities, and partner with engineering leaders to design clear sub-systems and enhance the SDLC.

Qualifications

• Masters or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of engineering leadership experience – managing people and programs.

Responsibilities

• Aligning teams to focus on new AI native features and business goals.
• Taking complete functional ownership of your area including vision for platform and product with PMs and stakeholders.
• Initiating innovation by providing the initial inspiration needed to get a team started.
• Elevating engineering practices to be AI-native, guiding adoption of AI tools and methodologies.
• Prioritizing organization deliverables based on company needs with leadership across departments.
• Ensuring products are performant, available, resilient, and stable.
