Gusto is hiring a Product Design Manager for Payroll. You will lead a senior design team, shape a long-term UX vision for payroll, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, and Ops to drive strategy and roadmaps.

You’ll spearhead AI-enabled design initiatives to simplify payroll while preserving accuracy and trust. You will mentor designers, set design standards, and ensure seamless integration of Payroll with Benefits, Time & Attendance, and third-party tools across the People Platform.

Formación

• 8–10+ years of product design experience
• Experience leading design teams (3+ years)
• Experience designing in complex domains (financial, healthcare)
• Experience setting UX direction across multiple teams
• Strong communication and storytelling skills
• Interest in AI-driven design and automation

Responsabilidades

• Lead end-to-end design for Payroll, shaping experiences that help small businesses pay their teams correctly, on time, and with confidence.
• Define and communicate the long-term UX vision for Payroll, and rally multiple teams around it.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, Ops and others to set strategy and roadmaps.
• Lead product initiatives where AI and automation are central to the user experience, simplifying payroll and reducing manual work.
• Collaborate with Research and Data to uncover customer insights and translate them into clear UX priorities.
• Influence product and technical roadmaps by advocating for design quality and customer needs.
• Set the quality standards for AI-assisted design work and overall design output.
• Define and scale shared patterns and standards for quality, consistency, and velocity.
• Manage and grow a team of designers, providing mentorship and hands-on support.
• Champion the Payroll experience as part of Gusto's People Platform, ensuring integration with Benefits, Time & Attendance, and third-party tools.
