Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline seeks an AI Director for Development Global Clinical Operations to define AI-native strategy across development operations. You will prototype, test, and deploy AI-enabled workflows with business SMEs and enterprise tech teams, shaping build-buy-partner decisions and vendor selections for scalable impact.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration to accelerate trial delivery, manage ROI-focused business cases, and ensure scalable, compliant deployment of frontier AI

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences or technical field and deep AI/technology experience.
• Experience building business cases and delivering AI-enabled transformation programmes.
• Strong understanding of clinical operations and regulatory considerations.
• Hands-on with frontier AI tools and rapid prototyping for scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Drive AI-native Development Operations strategy and roadmap to improve clinical outcomes.
• Lead prioritisation for AI opportunities aligned with R&D priorities.
• Scan external AI landscape and evaluate vendor offerings for build-buy-partner decisions.
• Define build-buy-partner approaches with ROI-focused business cases and stage-gate discipline.
• Shape deployment architecture with enterprise AI, data, security, and regulatory teams.
• Drive cross-functional alignment and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead 0-to-1 incubation for priority opportunities with hands-on prototyping.
• Define adoption strategies including workflow redesign and change interventions.
