GlaxoSmithKline seeks an AI Director for Development Global Clinical Operations to lead the AI-native strategy across Development Operations, prototyping frontier tools, and shaping scalable deployments.

You will collaborate with business SMEs, enterprise technology teams, and external partners to accelerate trial delivery and improve patient outcomes, while building business cases and vendor strategies. This role reports to the Head of Asset Acceleration and AI.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Extensive experience in applied AI/technology or Pharma strategy at top-tier firms.
• Deep understanding of clinical operations and development.
• Strong knowledge of industry trends shaping clinical trials.
• Proven ability to build business cases and deliver AI-enabled transformation.
• Technical depth across AI, data and technology with team collaboration skills.
• Strong commercial judgement in vendor decisions within enterprise settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for senior audiences.
• Hands-on with AI-native tools and rapid prototyping.

Aufgaben

• Drive the AI-native Development Operations strategy and roadmap anchored to measurable outcomes.
• Lead prioritisation for AI opportunities aligning with R&D priorities.
• Scan external landscape for AI capabilities, translating findings into strategy.
• Define build-buy-partner approach, balancing speed, risk, and long-term value.
• Build and defend business cases with ROI and success criteria; enforce stage gates.
• Shape deployment strategy with enterprise AI, data, security, and regulatory teams.
• Drive cross-functional alignment and endorsement for the AI-native strategy.
• Partner with leaders to identify bottlenecks and measurable AI-enabled outcomes.
• Lead 0-to-1 incubation: frame hypotheses, prototype, and define scaling or pivot.
• Define adoption strategy including workflow redesign and change interventions.
