SMX is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to join our team on a mission-critical data science platform for a Federal customer. The role bridges business needs with technical solutions, focusing on modern AI capabilities and rapid advancement opportunities.

Essentials include designing AI agents, researching Databricks/Palantir capabilities, and building chatbots. Requirements include DoD clearance, a CS degree, and 6+ years in related work, with hands-on AI model training experience.

Qualifications

Requires US citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
6 years of related work experience.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Minimum of 2 years hands-on development experience in training AI models.
Experience integrating AI capabilities into Dev/Ops pipelines.
Experience developing Agents using OpenAI LLMs.
Experience with AI chatbots to support business requirements.
Experience training ML models on live/production datasets for predictive analysis and data anomaly detection.
Experience with agile development methodology.

Responsibilities

Design and develop new AI Agents to expedite capabilities meeting business requirements.
Research AI capabilities with Databricks and Palantir to standardize usage by developers.
Prompt Engineer LLMs for use by development teams to accelerate analysis and coding.
Develop chatbots to support developer and customer interactions.
Train ML models to predict outcomes based on historical data inputs.
