SMX is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to join our team in support of a Modernized Data Science Platform for a Federal customer. The role focuses on bridging business needs with technical solutions and leveraging modern AI capabilities.

The position requires US citizenship, DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 6 years of experience. Expect hybrid collaboration and career advancement opportunities.

Qualifikationen

• Security clearance: US citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6 years of related work experience.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Minimum 2 years hands-on development experience in training AI models.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into Dev/Ops pipelines to speed coding and delivery.
• Experience developing Agents using OpenAI LLMs.
• Experience with AI chatbots for business needs.
• Experience training ML models on live/production data.
• Experience with agile development methodology.
• Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and independently.
• Proven knowledge sharing (code reviews, solid documentation).
• Driven, self-directed personality.
• Strong sense of mission and commitment to making a difference.

Aufgaben

• Design and develop new AI Agents to meet business functional requirements.
• Research AI capabilities within Databricks and Palantir to standardize usage by developers.
• Prompt Engineer LLMs to accelerate analysis and coding.
• Develop chatbots to support developer and customer interactions.
• Train machine learning models to predict outcomes from historical data inputs.
