Job summary

Alignerr Corp. is seeking a Japanese Language Expert to help evaluate and improve AI systems for language learning and communication. You will shape how AI understands and responds in Japanese, influencing learners worldwide.

The role emphasizes linguistic judgment, teaching or evaluation experience, and ability to work asynchronously on a remote, hourly basis. This is a flexible, freelance-style engagement with potential for ongoing work.

Qualifications

• Native-level proficiency in Japanese.
• Experience teaching or evaluating learner language.
• Fluent in English (C1/C2).
• Familiar with CEFR frameworks.
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment.
• No prior AI experience required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated Japanese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality.
• Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+.
• Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps with expert judgment.
• Provide clear, structured feedback that improves AI tutoring and language-learning models.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts.
• Contribute to raising the overall quality and reliability of AI language instruction.
