Job summary

Alignerr is seeking French language experts to evaluate and improve AI systems trained on French content. Your linguistic insight and teaching background will shape how AI understands, generates, and teaches French—impacting one of the world's most influential languages.

You will work remotely on an hourly contract, committing at least 15 hours per week in fully asynchronous workflows, collaborating with project leads and other language experts to produce high-quality feedback and improvements.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in French.
• Experience teaching French or evaluating learner language.
• Fluent in English (C1/C2).
• Familiar with CEFR frameworks and levels.
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated French speech and text for linguistic accuracy and educational quality.
• Assess learner speech and writing across CEFR levels Pre-A1 through B2+.
• Identify learner errors, natural phrasing issues, and pedagogical gaps with expert judgment.
• Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic, and pedagogically sound French.
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI tutoring and language-learning models.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate AI-generated French speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality
• Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+
• Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps with expert judgment
• Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic, and pedagogically sound French
• Provide structured feedback that directly improves AI tutoring and language-learning models
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts

Who You Are

• Native or near-native fluency in French
• Experience teaching French or evaluating learner language
• Fluent in English (C1/C2 level)
• Familiar with learner speech patterns and CEFR frameworks
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment
• No prior AI experience required

• Experience in language assessment, curriculum design, or standardized testing
