Job summary

Alignerr is seeking Chinese language experts to help evaluate and improve AI systems for Chinese learning and communication. You will shape how AI understands and teaches Chinese, drawing on linguistic insight and teaching experience.

The role is remote, hourly, with a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week and fully asynchronous scheduling, offering autonomy for global collaboration and ongoing opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Chinese at native level.
• Strong written English communication (C1/C2).
• Experience teaching Chinese or evaluating learner language.
• Attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated Chinese speech and text for linguistic accuracy.
• Assess learner speech and writing across CEFR levels from Pre-A1 to B2+.
• Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps.
• Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic and culturally appropriate Chinese.
• Provide structured feedback that strengthens AI tutoring models.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and language experts.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate AI-generated Chinese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality
• Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+
• Apply expert judgment to identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps
• Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic, and culturally appropriate Chinese
• Provide structured feedback that strengthens AI tutoring and language-learning models
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts

Who You Are

• Native-level proficiency in Chinese
• Experience teaching Chinese or evaluating learner language
• Strong written communication skills in English (C1/C2 level)
• Solid familiarity with learner speech patterns and CEFR frameworks
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher
• Attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment
• No prior AI experience required

• Background in language assessment, curriculum design, or standardized testing
• Exposure to AI-powered language tools or educational technology
• Comfort working independently in structured, asynchronous workflows
