Job summary

Referment is partnering with a global investment and technology firm to hire an attorney focused on responsible AI adoption across investing, technology, and business functions. The role is part of Legal & Compliance and collaborates with business development staff, investment professionals, and technologists.

You will advise on removing legal barriers to AI adoption, review AI tool vendors and data-use questions, and help shape the governance framework for emerging capabilities.

Qualifications

• A law degree and five to seven years' experience at a law firm, asset manager, financial-services or fintech business.
• Commercial judgment, excellent interpersonal skills and confidence making risk-based decisions.
• Interest in AI and experience integrating it into legal work; deep AI specialisation is helpful but not essential.
• In-house product-counsel or general advisory experience is preferred.
• Strong drafting, project management, communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Advise teams on removing legal barriers to AI adoption without exposing the organisation to undue risk.
• Review new AI tools, vendor arrangements, data-use questions and proposed workflow integrations.
• Support the development and maintenance of the organisation's AI governance framework.
• Anticipate legal and regulatory implications of emerging AI capabilities and turn them into workable guidance.
• Draft policies and procedures and help establish systems that support compliance.
