Job summary

Incendia Partners seeks a Director of Artificial Intelligence to lead the firm’s strategic, practical, and responsible adoption of AI within legal workflows. The role focuses on high-impact, cost-effective solutions while upholding confidentiality, ethics, and client trust.

Responsibilities include developing an AI roadmap, identifying use cases for partners and staff, advising leadership on AI scope, and overseeing governance, risk, and tool implementations with a strong ROI focus.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in legal technology, innovation, IT leadership, or a closely related field.
• Hands-on experience deploying AI or advanced legal-tech tools in professional services.
• Balance innovation with risk management and budget constraints.
• Knowledge of U.S. and international legal industry workflows and confidentiality.
• Residence in one of the specified cities including Austin, NYC, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a realistic AI roadmap focused on near- and medium-term value.
• Identify practical AI use cases for partners, associates and staff.
• Advise firm leadership on where AI should—and should not—be used.
• Create and maintain firmwide AI policies covering use, confidentiality, data handling, and supervision.
• Evaluate, pilot, and deploy AI tools with ROI and vendor stability in mind.
• Oversee contracts, renewals, and vendor performance for AI-enabled tools.
• Translate AI capabilities into attorney-friendly guidance and workflows.
• Design and deliver training for partners, associates, and staff.
• Embed AI into daily legal work in collaboration with Practice Groups and IT.

Education
