Job summary

Referment is seeking an attorney to advise on responsible AI adoption across investing, technology, and business functions, helping teams pursue practical AI use while identifying and mitigating legal and regulatory risk in a commercially grounded way.

Within Legal & Compliance, you will work with business development staff, investment professionals, and technologists to develop and maintain an AI governance framework and provide day-to-day guidance on tools, vendors, and data used across the

Qualifications

A law degree and five to seven years' experience at a law firm, asset manager, financial-services or fintech business.
Commercial judgment, excellent interpersonal skills and confidence making risk-based decisions.
Interest in AI and experience integrating it into legal work; deep AI specialisation is helpful but not essential.
In-house product-counsel or general advisory experience is preferred.
Strong drafting, project management, communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Advise teams on removing legal barriers to AI adoption without exposing the organisation to undue risk.
Review new AI tools, vendor arrangements, data-use questions and proposed workflow integrations.
Support the development and maintenance of the organisation's AI governance framework.
Anticipate legal and regulatory implications of emerging AI capabilities and turn them into workable guidance.
Draft policies and procedures and help establish systems that support compliance.
