Job summary

Ascend Learning is seeking a UX Designer to create intuitive, user-centered experiences for our digital products. You will collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to translate business goals and user needs into effective design solutions, embracing AI-assisted workflows to rapidly explore concepts and iterate.

The role supports hybrid work from Leawood, KS or Burlington, MA, with remote options within the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in UX or product design.
• Proficiency in Figma; experience with AI-powered design and ideation tools strongly preferred.
• Experience working with front-end developers and contributing to design-to-dev handoffs.
• A natural collaborator with strong communication skills and the ability to present and defend design decisions to diverse audiences.
• A critical thinker who can navigate ambiguity, solve complex problems, and drive work forward independently.
• Portfolio demonstrating your design process, range of work, and ability to connect design decisions to user and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• AI-Augmented Design: Use AI tools to rapidly concept solutions and explore design directions.
• End-to-End UX Design: Craft user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes that balance user needs with business outcomes.
• Research & Validation: Plan and conduct user research and usability testing to surface meaningful insights.
• Collaboration: Work with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to refine design solutions across the product lifecycle.
• Design Systems: Contribute to and evolve the design system for consistency across products.
• Design Excellence: Champion best practices in interaction design and accessibility.
