Job summary

CNA Financial invites eligible undergraduates and first-year master’s students to join a Tech Summer Internship in Chicago. The 10–12 week program offers hands-on exposure to server technologies, IT automation, and cloud foundations, with a mentor and potential full-time placement after graduation.

Participants will work on automation using Ansible, Terraform, Chef and Puppet, and gain real-world experience designing IT delivery models. Hybrid in-office and remote collaboration is supported.

Qualifications

• Must be a sophomore, junior or senior (undergraduate) or in first year of Master’s program pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Computational Statistics, Data Science or related technical field
• Minimum 3.0 GPA (overall and major)
• 6+ months of work experience in Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning
• 1+ year of coding proficiency in Python, R, or SQL
• Interest in the Insurance Industry
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities

• Challenging, innovative assignments applying technical education to technology projects
• Participate in designing and building IT automation capabilities using Ansible, Terraform, Chef and Puppet
• Assist in deploying fully automated IT delivery models to speed up provisioning and reduce errors
• Proactively propose ideas to deliver business value
• In-depth education in technology and the insurance industry and CNA's role in profitability
• Mentorship and opportunities to meet senior leadership and learn from their experiences
• Professional and personal development activities with ongoing feedback and coaching
• Consideration for potential full-time placement after graduation
