Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an Applied Data Scientist – AI Enablement to build internal AI capabilities and streamline data foundations within the Transportation Business Group.

The role begins with internal development, addressing bottlenecks in systems, data, and tooling, then expands to client-facing AI delivery as capabilities mature. The position emphasizes collaboration across IT, data architects, and business stakeholders, with ongoing learning and a path toward scalable, repeatable AI services

Qualifications

• 3+ years with data engineering tools (SQL, Power Query, Pandas).
• 3+ years with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib).
• 3+ years with Python and R for data science.
• Strong writing and communication; proactive multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy AI solutions and improve data foundations.
• Build reusable AI components, data pipelines, and scalable workflows.
• Manage full model lifecycle: development, deployment, monitoring, retraining.
• Collaborate with IT and stakeholders to scale AI capabilities.
• Support client pursuits and evolve repeatable AI services.
