Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an Applied Data Scientist – AI Enablement to build internal AI capabilities and remove bottlenecks across HDR’s Transportation Business Group.

The role starts internally, develops AI solutions, data foundations, and scalable processes, then shifts toward client-facing AI delivery as capabilities mature. Responsibilities include designing AI solutions, building reusable components, and managing full model lifecycles while identifying improvement areas in data and tooling.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience with data engineering tools and languages (SQL, Power Query, Pandas).
• 3+ years experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib).
• 3+ years experience with data science languages (Python, R).
• Experience in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) and end-to-end data science projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI solutions for internal HDR needs.
• Build reusable AI components and data pipelines scalable for future client delivery.
• Manage full model lifecycle: development, deployment, monitoring, drift detection, retraining, inference.
• Identify data, system, and tooling constraints; collaborate with IT and data architects to implement scalable improvements.
• Communicate AI concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders and support client pursuits when needed.
