Job summary

Mercer in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Senior Workforce Strategy Consultant to join our team. You will blend workforce analytics, human capital strategy, and AI-enabled insights to help clients predict, shape, and optimize workforce outcomes with governance and data products.

You will design analytic models, lead client engagements as analytics and AI SME, and deliver dashboards, data stories, and executive-ready deliverables while ensuring responsible AI and model governance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant consulting experience in workforce strategy or HR analytics.
• Master’s or PhD in economics, I-O psychology, statistics, data science, CS, or related.
• Experience in pay equity analysis and strategic workforce planning.
• Strong statistics and machine learning skills: regression, causal inference, time series.
• Proficiency with Python, R, SQL and visualization tools such as Tableau.

Responsibilities

• Translate business problems into analytics-driven workforce solutions combining qualitative research, statistics, and AI-enabled methods.
• Design, build, and operationalize analytic models and data products using structured data and unstructured text.
• Lead client engagements as analytics and AI subject-matter lead; define approaches and roadmaps.
• Drive pay equity, strategic workforce planning, and external labor market analyses; quantify ROI.
• Create interactive dashboards, visuals, and client-ready data stories with interpretability in mind.
• Ensure responsible AI: model validation, bias detection, privacy, and governance.
