Job summary

Subway is seeking a Testing & Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated tests for UI, API, and backend services, enabling faster, more reliable software delivery. You will partner with Software Engineers, Product, and DevOps to embed quality early, expand test coverage, and drive AI-assisted testing across the SDLC.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, or automation roles.
• Proficiency with automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, REST-assured, or Postman.
• Ability to read, write, or debug test code or scripts (e.g., Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C#).
• Understanding of REST APIs and service-based architectures; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted testing tools and practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for UI, API, and backend services.
• Partner with Software Engineers and Product teams to define test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain and enhance test-automation frameworks and tooling; integrate automated tests into CI/CD (Azure DevOps).
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution; perform root-cause analysis.
• Define and apply functional-quality release-readiness criteria and provide evidence-based signals.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools across the test lifecycle and validate AI-generated tests.
