Job summary

MISO is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead one or more software teams, set technical direction, and own delivery across schedule, cost, scope, and quality. You will champion AI-native SDLC practices and collaborate with business stakeholders and Product Management to deliver high-value initiatives.

You will recruit and coach engineers, manage budgets and vendor partnerships, and drive modern engineering practices in a secure, compliant environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or four years of equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of technical experience and 3 years of management experience.
• Experience leading multiple software teams in a distributed workforce.
• Experience with outsourcing/vendor management and contract oversight.
• Understanding of SDLC methodologies and secure development.
• Experience implementing AI-native software engineering tooling and workflows.
• Strong CI/CD experience and cloud-native architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead software engineering teams by setting technical direction and delivery.
• Champion AI-native and automation-first SDLC practices across the organization.
• Partner with Product Management to align roadmaps with stakeholder needs.
• Oversee vendor partnerships, SOW development, onboarding, and quality standards.
• Establish goals and maintain standards, policies, and modern practices.
• Recruit, develop, and coach engineers and emerging leaders.
• Provide technology leadership in application development and security, manage budgets.
