Job summary

MISO seeks a Software Engineering Manager to lead one or more software teams, set technical direction, and oversee delivery, cost, scope, and quality. You will champion AI-native and automation-first SDLC practices while collaborating with Product Management and stakeholders to deliver high-value initiatives.

You will recruit and coach diverse engineers, manage budgets and resources, and ensure compliance with security standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or 4 years of equivalent work experience).
Minimum 5 years of technical experience and 3 years of management experience required (12 years technical and 5 years management preferred).
Experience leading multiple software engineering teams in distributed workforce.
Experience overseeing outsourced teams and vendor management (preferred).
Strong understanding of software development methodologies and secure SDLC practices.

Responsibilities

Lead software engineering teams by setting technical direction and driving delivery.
Champion AI-native SDLC practices and modern engineering tooling.
Partner with Product Management to align roadmaps with stakeholder needs.
Oversee vendor partnerships, including SOWs and onboarding, ensuring quality and security.
Establish departmental goals and maintain standards and best practices.
Recruit and coach engineers and emerging leaders with development plans.
