Job summary

EY in the United States seeks an experienced engineer to turn emerging AI capabilities into products people use, trust, and rely on, close to users, decisions, and production code.

You’ll own complete product slices, test assumptions early, design with responsible AI, and build an evidence system that measures usefulness, safety, accessibility, and cost, while collaborating across teams in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant and applicable experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
• End-to-end delivery: take software from concept through launch, learning, and adoption.
• Technical breadth across frontend, backend, API, data, and cloud technologies.
• Applied AI experience with large language models, retrieval, tools, or similar patterns.
• Evaluation experience: automated testing and behavioral evaluation.
• Live-service ownership: telemetry, debugging, incident response, recovery, and performance improvement.
• User-centered practice: work with users, designers, and product leaders to inform decisions.
• Engineering craft: clear specs, maintainable code, thoughtful review, and solid trade-offs.
• This role requires up to 50% travel and hybrid office presence.

Responsibilities

• Start with the user: work with users and domain experts to understand workflows and AI value.
• Test assumptions quickly: turn hypotheses into specs, prototypes, and small releases.
• Own complete product slices: build verticals across experience, services, data, AI behavior, and integrations.
• Shape AI behavior: design instructions, context, retrieval, outputs, and tool use.
• Build the evidence system: create representative tasks and automated evaluations.
• Connect outcomes to behavior: instrument journeys to relate adoption to system metrics.
• Engineer for responsible use: clear permissions, data handling, checkpoints, rollback.
• Own production quality: release incrementally, monitor live behavior, respond to incidents.
• Make practical trade-offs: balance experience, quality, speed, reliability, cost.
• Contribute reusable patterns: share components and evaluation assets across the platform.
