Flow is seeking a software engineer who will build practical, AI-powered software that teams use daily to move faster and work smarter. You’ll work across backend, frontend, data, and infrastructure, embedding with operators and neighbors to translate frictions into impactful tooling.

You’ll be a true product engineer, learning rapidly, expanding into new areas, and shaping AI-enabled workflows that deliver real value in physical environments like buildings.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of software engineering experience building products, platforms, or internal tools.
• Strong backend fundamentals with a generalist mindset across frontend, data, and infrastructure.
• Proven ability to learn quickly and expand into unfamiliar areas.
• Builder mindset with product instincts focused on neighbor and operator needs.
• Genuine AI-nativeness: fluency with Claude Code and Cursor; strong judgment to balance speed and quality.
• Experience collaborating with business and product stakeholders to solve real workflow problems.
• Proficiency with shell scripting, Python, Go, TypeScript.
• Experience with relational, vector, and graph databases.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to document clearly and explain technical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain software, workflow automations, and AI-enabled products that improve operators' work and neighbors' lives.
• Partner with operations, marketing, leasing, and other functions to turn day-to-day pain points into scalable solutions.
• Move across the stack — backend, frontend, data, and infrastructure — to ship a complete solution.
• Lead experimentation to validate new ideas, measure impact, and iterate toward valuable tools.
• Embed with diverse business functions to understand goals and implement aligned solutions.
• Document system design decisions and explain tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Use AI coding assistants to accelerate development while maintaining high standards of quality, maintainability, and reliability.
