Gusto is transforming how small businesses handle payroll, benefits, and HR. This role blends technical problem-solving with sales and customer service, helping owners set up payroll and HR, fix setup errors, and navigate tax guidelines across all states.

It is a growth path toward Implementations and Solutions Engineering. You will engage with customers, manage a ticket queue, and drive revenue through upgrades.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in a high-volume sales or customer service role with cross-selling or quotas
• Ability to translate customer needs into product value
• Excellent written and spoken communication across channels

Responsibilities

• Handle high-volume customer conversations via phone and email
• Own your ticket queue and manage pipeline
• Proactively position plan upgrades and surface cross-sell opportunities
• Diagnose tax discrepancies live and guide customers through state rules
• Configure sick time, PTO, and overtime policies to keep clients compliant
• Collaborate with Risk and other teams to resolve complex issues
• Leverage AI tools to improve workflows and provide feedback
