Job summary

Avalara is seeking a Senior Program Manager, Strategic Programs, to lead AI-driven onboarding modernization across five lines. You will shape the roadmap, drive automation and real-time observability, and partner with product and engineering to deploy scalable platforms.

You will define metrics, govern AI-enabled workflows, and ensure adoption with a focus on data integrity and lifecycle improvements across Customer Onboarding operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• 10+ years in TPM, business systems architecture, or operational process engineering within a high-growth SaaS/tech environment.
• Proven track record leading large-scale cross-functional workflow optimization programs and system integrations.
• Hands-on experience designing or deploying AI-enabled workflows and automation technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding modernization program roadmap for multiple pipelines.
• Architect AI-first workflow automation integrating LLMs, OCR, RPA, and agentic pipelines.
• Drive end-to-end value-stream mapping to uncover friction, debt, and delays.
• Define KPIs, dashboards, and reporting to align executives and prioritize work.
• Translate requirements into epics and user stories; collaborate with engineering squads.
• Establish human-in-the-loop governance and data integrity controls.
• Champion change management and operational adoption across onboarding teams.
