Job summary

Avalara, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Principal Consultant to lead the most strategic customer engagements across ERP and platform integrations. You will define scalable implementation architectures and mentor teams while shaping the practice and delivery standards.

In this senior role, you will influence product roadmaps, drive AI-enabled discovery and design, and elevate delivery quality for global customers with complex tax requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 12+ years in software implementation in B2B.
• Expert in tax automation with multi‑platform deployment experience.
• Deep knowledge of sales and use tax, nexus rules, and international tax.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver end-to-end implementations across ERP and platform integrations.
• Own a portfolio of strategically important customer implementations.
• Design and lead discovery engagements with enterprise and global customers.
• Identify patterns and translate into scalable process improvements and playbooks.
• Influence product roadmap and cross-functional collaboration to close delivery gaps.
• Mentor senior and mid-level specialists and advocate AI-enabled approaches.
