Job summary

Avalara seeks a Strategic Initiatives Program Manager to lead cross-functional programs enabling Revenue Operations and GTM success. You will translate business strategy into executable programs, partnering with executives to ensure alignment, governance, and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience leading complex program management, strategy and operations within a GTM or Revenue Operations organization.
• 4+ years of experience leading organizational change management or enterprise transformation programs across Sales, Finance, Legal, and Technology workstreams.
• Proven track record managing concurrent, high-stakes programs with cross-functional dependencies and executive sponsorship (e.g., sales expansion/cross-sell, revenue platform improvements).
• Strong working knowledge of GTM tech ecosystems, CRM platforms, and revenue operations workflows (pricing, quoting, contracting).
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with ability to balance tactical execution and long-term planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic, multi-workstream programs advancing Revenue Operations and GTM priorities from concept to delivery.
• Partner with executive leaders to define objectives, align priorities, and ensure measurable value.
• Develop and manage comprehensive program plans with timelines, milestones, risks, and success metrics.
• Facilitate governance, steering committee meetings, and weekly status updates for senior leadership.
• Build partnerships across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, Product, Engineering, Legal, and Operations for alignment.
• Identify risks and dependencies, developing mitigation strategies to keep initiatives on track.
• Lead organizational change management, stakeholder engagement, and adoption strategies.
• Drive continuous improvement to simplify workflows and enhance governance across the PPMO.
• Utilize AI-powered tools and BI platforms to improve planning, forecasting, and insights.
• Establish program KPIs and dashboards to provide transparency into progress and impact.
