Job summary

OceanX is seeking a Mission Operations & AI Enablement Lead based in New York City to oversee global expedition planning and execution. The role focuses on deploying AI-enabled workflows, system integrations, and automation to improve mission readiness and data-driven decision making.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in operations, project management, and AI-enabled process improvements, coordinating across science, marine operations, education, media, and partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in marine sciences, business, or related field.
• 5+ years in project/operations management or systems implementation in global settings.
• Experience building and implementing AI solutions for workflow optimization and data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mission planning and execution across all phases and ensure continuous improvement.
• Coordinate permitting, logistics, and regulatory compliance for global expeditions.
• Partner with internal/external teams to balance scientific goals with operations.
• Lead vessel scheduling, scenario planning, routing, and readiness with Marine Operations.
• Develop AI-enabled workflows, integrations, and automation across platforms.
