Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist in Content Development to create and review K-12 assessments for state and district clients. You will be a content and assessment expert, leveraging AI tools to enhance items, passages, and tests while ensuring accessibility and standards alignment.

Responsibilities include developing items across grade levels, building specifications and blueprints, training writers, and collaborating with psychometricians and Pearson teams to deliver high-quality assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, content-specific area, or equivalent experience required.
• Five years’ teaching experience in elementary or secondary education preferred.
• Strong knowledge of educational trends and content development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review test items across multiple formats for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item and test specifications, blueprints, and ancillary documents.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support content development and accessibility.
• Collaborate with team members to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows.
• Select, train, and manage item writers and educators for standards-based items.
• Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Work with test development managers, psychometricians, and Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in educational content creation.
