Radley Green is partnering a fast-growing AI native business seeking a Controller to redesign finance workflows with AI and lead the function from inception. You will own the monthly close, drive reconciliations and reporting, and manage an outsourced team while expanding scalable systems across AP, procurement and expenses.

The role emphasizes building processes, approaching the first external audit, and delivering zero-day close with collaboration from Product and ML engineers.

Qualifications

• CPA qualification with auditing depth.
• 3–5 years of public accounting experience (audit).
• Experience building or significantly scaling an accounting function in a high-growth company.
• Confident owning the full month-end close and leading audits.
• Startup experience preferred, but strong candidates from larger companies welcome.
• Interest in using AI to automate finance processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close, reconciliations, accruals, revenue recognition and financial reporting.
• Lead audit readiness from scratch: roadmap, documentation, controls and first external audit.
• Build scalable systems across AP, procurement, expenses, purchasing approvals, vendor commitments and spend reporting.
• Redesign workflows with AI to decide where automation applies and maintain explainability.
• Act as finance's internal customer of the product, providing feedback to Product and Engineering.
• Oversee outsourced accounting team and focus on systems, automation and zero-day close.
• Provide leadership with clear spend visibility by vendor, team, category and cost driver.
