Lovingly, LLC. is an AI-driven emotional commerce platform serving florists across the U.S. and Canada.

We seek a hands-on Controller to own accounting, controls, and daily operations, directly managing a Senior Accountant and Claire, our AI finance operator, in Hopewell Junction, NY. You will lead the monthly close, financial reporting, and system-driven processes while maintaining strict compliance and closing timelines.

Qualifications

• Significant accounting-operations experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
• Strong practical knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience leading a team, owning outcomes, and developing staff.
• Comfort working with AI-enabled systems and automated workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead and complete monthly and annual close; deliver a reliable monthly close within five business days.
• Produce accurate, timely management financial statements.
• Review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, prepaids, fixed assets, and reports.
• Maintain general-ledger integrity; reconcile intercompany activity and balances.
• Document significant accounting judgments and adaptations; coordinate with outside professionals when needed.
• Oversee post-close adjustments and ensure robust control environment.
• Maintain cash visibility; govern banking access and payment controls; ensure proper separation of duties.
• Coordinate payroll, tax filings, and compliance activities with providers.
• Own compliance calendars, audits, and related notices.
• Document workflows and evidence; ensure logs and backups for continuity.
• Develop Claire's finance workflows and validate outputs against source evidence.
• Identify recurring work for automation and Claire-assisted execution.
