Job summary

Block is seeking a Compliance Technology Program Lead to ensure our ML and heuristic models, and the data infrastructure that feeds them, are fit for purpose for fiat and virtual currency products. You will use AI tools to automate oversight, monitoring, and documentation, and partner with ML, Engineering and Policy Teams for end-to-end technical oversight.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in compliance tech at regulated FIs or with FIs as a consultant.
• Hands-on with modern AI tools (Claude, GPT) and integrating AI into operations.
• Experience with ML and heuristic models in Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions Screening, and Customer Risk Scoring.
• Experience with input data quality monitoring and model performance monitoring.
• Experience conducting AML model validations per SR 11-7 and OCC 2011-12.
• Experience with examinations, consent orders, regulators and independent monitors.
• Familiarity with blockchain analytics and screening tools (Chainalysis, TRM Labs).
• Track record of driving cross-functional initiatives and working in regulated financial services.

Responsibilities

• Build with AI tools to scale oversight, monitoring, and documentation.
• Design human-in-the-loop checkpoints ensuring outputs are regulator-defensible.
• Establish model and data governance aligned with SR 11-7, SR 26-2, OCC 2011-12.
• Lead the design of real-time dashboards to monitor model health and data input.
• Set thresholds and below-the-line testing controls.
• Identify when model performance requires tuning or deprecation with risk-aware changes.
• Oversee Transaction Monitoring models, including heuristic and rules-based logic and data pipelines.
• Oversee blockchain analytics and sanctions screening tools and ensure integration with investigations.
• Oversee Customer Risk Scoring models and calibration of risk drivers.
• Oversee AI-driven case resolution to ensure explainability and auditability.
