Job summary

Avalara is seeking a Product Manager to own and advance the ECM roadmap. You will work at the intersection of customer compliance needs and AI capabilities, coordinating with engineering, sales, and our services teams to deliver scalable certificate management features.

You will leverage Jira/Confluence and engage with customers to surface gaps, shaping requirements and go-to-market launches across ECM tiers. Hybrid-Durham with possible remote consideration for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping SaaS or B2B software end-to-end, from discovery through launch.
• Ability to define a product roadmap independently and communicate trade-offs to engineering and execs.
• Translate complex customer or regulatory requirements into actionable specs and user stories.
• Track record of cross-functional delivery with engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success.

Responsibilities

• Define requirements and prioritize the ECM backlog.
• Collaborate with engineering to ship features that reduce audit risk and scale management of exemption certificates.
• Surface compliance gaps with customers, sales, and Managed Services for actionable improvements.
• Draft product specs and user stories from complex requirements for engineering clarity.
• Communicate roadmap progress and support go-to-market for ECM tiers Essentials, Pro, and Premium.
