Avalara, Inc. is seeking a senior technical program/product manager to own the template and component library within our web content platform. You will set scope, guardrails, and ROI-driven improvements, guiding cross-functional teams and partners across geographies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, aligned with Avalara's standards.
6+ years in technical program or product management for web content platforms.
Direct ownership of a template or component library at senior level.
Experience with enterprise CMS platforms and author-facing template design.
Experience defining SEO, tagging, and asset management guardrails.
Demonstrated use of AI tools to improve governance and content operations.
Track record of raising team performance and accountability.

Responsibilities

Own and govern the CMS template and component library, defining scope and features.
Set design and feature boundaries to reinforce brand and ROI.
Define what behavioral data must be captured across templates and components.
Be the primary source of truth on platform capabilities for stakeholders.
Support internationalization and localization workflows for publishing across geographies.
Improve usability of templates and components to lower learning curve.
Demonstrate platform capabilities to stakeholders exploring new product promos.
Identify shortcomings and translate into clear CMS development requirements.
Define asset management standards and metadata practices.
Use AI to accelerate work and assist authors without deep CMS skills.
Quantify impact of AI adoption and share practices with peers.
