Job summary

Vanguard invites a Cloud Security Engineering Manager to lead a growing team responsible for cloud security controls and misconfiguration management across Vanguard’s multi-cloud footprint.

You will drive at the intersection of security risk, automation, and AI-driven capabilities, partnering with Platform Engineering, DevSecOps, Architecture, and SOC to implement shift-left practices and enable auto-remediation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years related work experience, including cloud security engineering or cloud engineering.
• Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP – with a strong understanding of cloud security principles
• Superb analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate complex security risks
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders multiple levels up

Responsibilities

• Lead & develop a high-performing Cloud Security Posture Management team. Provide mentorship and development as per HR policies.
• Lead the team that uses CNAPP/CSPM tools to protect Vanguard cloud assets from misconfigurations and threats.
• Infuse AI into preventative and detective capabilities within team operations.
• Partner with Platform Engineering, DevSecOps, Architecture, SOC and others to implement shift-left security practices.
• Coordinate implementation of cloud security controls ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Oversee timely resolution of false-positives and risk acceptance adjustments.
• Shape remediation SLAs and guardrails to enforce policy.
• Develop metrics and OKRs to measure program effectiveness.
• Coordinate with Engineering to tune scanning tools for better visibility and objectives.
• Lead continuous process improvement and stay current on industry practices.
