Vaco is seeking a highly technical Cyber Security Manager to lead security architecture, engineering, and operations across a complex enterprise landscape. This player-coach role combines team leadership with hands-on work to stay close to the technology.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
8+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience.
5+ years of technical leadership or management experience.
Strong knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
Deep experience with cloud-native security across AWS and/or Azure.
Hands-on experience securing Kubernetes, IAM, Windows, and Linux environments.
Strong understanding of Active Directory, SMB, Kerberos, memory protection, and other enterprise security concepts.
Hands-on PKI management experience.
Strong scripting/development experience with Python and/or Go, including security automation and custom tooling.
Understanding of AI/LLM security and evaluating Python-based AI frameworks.

Responsibilities

Lead security architecture and engineering across on-premise, AWS, and Azure environments.
Establish security standards and guardrails for AI/ML and LLM technologies, including RAG pipelines, API security, prompt injection, and emerging AI threats.
Lead and participate in threat hunting, incident response, vulnerability management, and remediation.
Serve as a senior technical escalation point for complex cybersecurity issues.
Develop and maintain DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD security controls, infrastructure-as-code scanning, and automated compliance.
Provide technical direction around security architecture, tooling, infrastructure, and technical debt.
Identify security risks and translate highly technical issues into actionable recommendations for technical and business leadership.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing cybersecurity team.
Partner with infrastructure, cloud, application development, and business teams to implement security best practices across the organization.
