Job summary

Vanguard is seeking a senior leader to guide and grow a high-performing cloud engineering team. You will mentor engineers, drive platform initiatives, and partner with architecture, DevOps, and infrastructure to deliver scalable cloud solutions across our environment.

In this role, you will champion automation and AI-enabled tooling, establish engineering standards, and define metrics to measure reliability, performance, and business impact. Hybrid work model with collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years in cloud or platform engineering leadership.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a related field.
Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and cloud best practices.
Demonstrated leadership of large-scale initiatives in enterprise settings.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a cloud engineering team and manage performance.
Develop and optimize cloud platform capabilities across Vanguard's cloud environment.
Drive automation and AI-enabled solutions to boost efficiency.
Partner with Platform Engineering, Architecture, DevOps, Infrastructure, and App Development teams to design scalable cloud solutions.
Establish engineering standards and operating models for reliable cloud operations.
Drive continuous improvement for cloud performance, availability, and resiliency.
Develop metrics, KPIs, and OKRs to measure reliability and outcomes.
Collaborate to improve visibility, observability, and cloud maturity.
Lead cloud modernization efforts and adopt emerging technologies.
