Job summary

Gusto is seeking an Agentic Operations Architect to own reusable capabilities that enable agentic service workflows. You will prototype patterns, set standards, and extract reusable components to accelerate future builds.

You’ll shape the platform by turning builder needs into concrete, prioritized asks and by partnering with Data, Product, Legal, Security, and Compliance. You’ll influence decisions across teams while maintaining governance and risk controls.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in operations, product, or AI roles with production AI/agentic workflow design.
• Hands-on experience with agentic tooling and orchestration frameworks.
• Strong fluency with LLM systems: prompt design and evaluation.
• Experience designing human-in-the-loop systems with clear escalation and compliance checkpoints.
• Ability to measure workflow metrics and diagnose regressions.

• Rank automation opportunities using data on volume, risk, and customer impact.
