Job summary

Stripe is seeking an innovative Accounting AI Specialist to scale our financial systems. You will apply accounting knowledge, AI capabilities, and data tooling to automate workflows, enhance controllership, and deliver actionable insights across finance teams.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in accounting-adjacent roles, strong GAAP fluency, and hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and data platforms like Databricks.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years in relevant roles, incl 4+ in accounting or related areas.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Finance Systems or Information Systems.
• Fluency in U.S. GAAP and strong financial reporting experience.
• Advanced SQL skills: complex queries, CTEs, window functions, joins.
• Familiarity with Python, Databricks, ETL/ELT and data pipelines.
• Understanding AI fundamentals, AI/LLM tools, automation and RPA.
• Strong communication skills to explain financial concepts to diverse audiences.
• Experience with internal controls (design, implementation, execution).

Responsibilities

• Identify AI opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
• Build AI-powered tools to automate accounting workflows and scale operations.
• Design autonomous AI agents to assist with risk assessment and financial reporting.
• Develop data products and dashboards using SQL and Python for real-time insights.
• Collaborate with Accounting and SOX teams to implement robust internal controls for AI solutions.
