Job summary

Stripe is seeking a finance operations AI/automation expert to collaborate with Finance, Product, and Engineering to automate processes and build data-driven solutions. The role focuses on delivering AI-enabled agents, scalable data pipelines, and knowledge layers that empower Finance teams to own and evolve automated workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, technical operations, BI, automation, or related field.
• Hands-on experience building AI-enabled tools, agents, automations, or workflows that changed a real business process.
• Strong SQL proficiency with complex queries (CTEs, window functions, joins).
• Track record of independently scoping and delivering technical solutions for process improvement.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to explain tech to non-tech.
• Experience teaching, coaching, enabling users, or transferring ownership via documentation or self-service tools.
• Working knowledge of development practices (version control, testing, code review, iterative delivery).
• Experience with low-code tools, scripting, workflow automation, AI-assisted development, or integrations.

Responsibilities

• Embed with Finance teams to diagnose workflows and translate requirements into AI/automation solutions.
• Build and operationalize AI agents for Finance use cases end-to-end.
• Write and optimize SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
• Design reusable knowledge layers and data-quality frameworks for agent accuracy.
• Identify limitations and collaborate with Engineering to scope tools and integrations.
• Build with users, gather feedback, and iterate until the solution fits the workflow.
• Enable long-term ownership with SOPs, runbooks, and self-service tooling; train Finance teams.
• Establish monitoring and observability for deployed agents, including metrics and incident response.
• Diagnose data issues and collaborate with Engineering for deeper platform changes.
• Measure adoption and impact; turn successes into standards and playbooks.
