Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to build and deploy AI systems for legal work. You will embed with customers, identify first-use cases, prototype solutions, and prove measurable value.

You will own the technical work from discovery through production adoption, translating workflows into feedback. The role offers hybrid work in SF/NYC with relocation assistance and up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software or ML engineering experience with customer-facing ownership.
• Experience with legal tech or regulated workflows is a plus.
• Experience deploying AI or data-driven systems in production.
• Proficiency with Python, JavaScript, and modern web stacks.

Responsibilities

• Embed with law firms and client teams to understand workflows and identify high-value use cases.
• Build full-stack systems that deliver customer value and accelerate learning.
• Embed closely with customer teams, gathering needs and guiding adoption.
• Make trade-offs between scope, speed, and quality; adjust plans to protect delivery.
• Contribute directly in the code when needed to progress a deployment.
• Codify patterns into reusable tools, playbooks, or building blocks.
