Job summary

Verigent is seeking an experienced Data Center Field Technician to provide hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance, and break/fix support for enterprise AI servers and large-scale computing infrastructure in the Greater Buffalo, NY area.

Role requires diagnosing complex hardware failures, particularly power, memory, and high-density liquid-cooled systems. Travel to customer sites is required within the assigned territory, with full-time direct-hire employment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience servicing enterprise x86 servers.
• Proven break/fix experience in data center environments.
• Experience diagnosing power failures and DIMM/RAM issues.
• Experience with 100TB+ scale storage/server deployments.
• Familiarity with liquid cooling in high-density servers.
• Hardware diagnostics, component replacement and RCA.
• Strong customer-facing field service experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently and with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair enterprise AI servers and complex x86 hardware systems in data center environments.
• Identify and resolve server power-related failures, including power supplies and distribution hardware.
• Troubleshoot memory-related issues involving DIMMs, RAM, and other server components.
• Support large-scale enterprise systems (100TB+) and liquid-cooled infrastructure.
• Perform hands-on break/fix repairs, preventive maintenance, hardware replacements, and system testing.
• Manage escalations, fault isolation, and repair/parts cycle times to minimize downtime.
• Provide second-level technical support to customers, resellers, and distributors.
• Collaborate with engineering, TAM, and service teams to resolve complex issues.
• Conduct diagnostic testing and simulations to identify root causes and validate repairs.
• Travel to customer sites across territory for support and training.
