Job summary

Managed.com is a remote-first, AI-focused company operating a data center in Buffalo, NY. This Data Center Technician role is on-site and covers server hardware setup, OS installation, and daily operational tasks to keep infrastructure running smoothly.

You will work Sunday to Thursday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, collaborating with internal teams and maintaining meticulous documentation and inventory. This is a hands-on, fast-paced technical environment in a growing AI-enabled organization.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on server hardware experience.
• Experience installing Windows Server and Linux OS (Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian).
• Familiar with data center racking and cabling workflows.
• Strong onsite and remote troubleshooting skills.
• Detail-oriented with solid organizational habits.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and deploy physical server hardware according to customer specifications.
• Install and manage Windows Server, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Debian.
• Complete technical service requests in person or via ticketing system with speed, accuracy, and documentation.
• Maintain system inventory and configuration records.
• Perform infrastructure tasks such as cable routing and component replacement.
• Keep the data center organized and within safety guidelines.
• Work with internal teams to support hardware and system needs.
• Support other tasks or projects to meet team goals.
