Job summary

Managed.com is seeking a Data Center Technician for its Buffalo, NY data center. The role is full-time and on-site, operating in a dynamic, AI-forward environment with a remote-first culture.

You will install and configure server hardware, manage operating systems (Windows Server, Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian), document work, and support hardware and systems across teams. A strong focus on accuracy, safety, and collaboration is required.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with computer hardware, including server builds and installations.
• Confident installing and configuring various operating systems (Windows Server, Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian, etc.).
• Familiar with data center workflows such as racking equipment and managing cabling.
• Strong troubleshooting skills—onsite and remote with attention to documentation.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and deploy physical server hardware according to customer specifications.
• Install and manage operating systems including Windows Server, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Debian.
• Complete technical service requests in person or via ticketing system with speed, accuracy, and documentation.
• Maintain system inventory and configuration records for accountability and reference.
• Perform infrastructure tasks such as cable routing, component replacement, and diagnostics.
• Keep the data center organized, clean, and compliant with safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support ongoing hardware and system needs.
• Support other tasks or projects to meet team and business needs.
