Job summary

SpaceXAI in Memphis seeks a Data Center Manager to oversee technicians and supervisors and ensure 99.999% uptime for our AI compute infrastructure.

You will co-lead a hands-on team, manage power, cooling, networking and hardware lifecycles, coordinate with AI specialists and vendors, drive sustainable solutions, and report on uptime and efficiency to guide expansion.

A proactive approach and strong communication across teams are essential.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in data center operations or similar critical environments.
3+ years managing technical teams.
Solid experience with server hardware, cabling, and data center technologies.

Responsibilities

Oversee site operations: manage power, cooling, networking, and hardware deployments to ensure 99.999% uptime.
Lead and develop a team of Data Center Operations Technicians with training and evaluations.
Own hardware lifecycles, incident resolution, and inventory management, refining procedures for consistency.
Coordinate between technicians, AI specialists, and external vendors to integrate new tech and expand capacity.
Champion energy-efficient practices and sustainability for AI workloads.
Track uptime, power efficiency, and issue resolution times to inform decisions.
Lead through emergencies with clear direction to protect AI systems.
Develop and refine processes, including preventative maintenance with vendors and Jira workflows.
Collaborate with leadership to standardize best practices across sites for growth.
