Job summary

The role requires an Associate degree or higher from a CAHIIM accredited program, with a minimum of one year inpatient coding experience and professional certifications such as RHIT, RHIA, or CCS.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in a CAHIIM accredited program or equivalent experience
• One year of inpatient coding experience or completion of Houston Methodist coding apprenticeships
• RHIT, RHIA, or CCS certification required or in progress

Responsibilities

• Interacts with coding team and stakeholders to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Queries physicians to obtain or clarify diagnoses and procedures.
• Maintains high coding quality and adheres to AHIMA guidelines.
• Ensures accurate data capture in the EHR and encoder systems.
