Job summary

South Central FS is seeking a Crop Specialist in St Peter, IL to drive profitable sales in the assigned territory. You will conduct direct sales calls, work with existing customers, and promote FS products and services to growers, using agronomic knowledge and credit tools.

The role requires willingness to travel, work extended hours, and maintain customer credit quality while delivering value through soil testing, crop scouting, and precision farming programs.

Qualifications

• College degree required.
• Strong understanding of on-farm production practices.
• Willingness to actively engage in training program and self-study.
• Persistence to maintain high sales call frequency with prospective accounts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct consistent direct sales calls on at least 20 prospective customers and work with existing customers in the territory.
• Drives and delivers profitability sales growth.
• Obtain orders and/or contracts for FS products and services.
• Assist in implementing marketing plans and developing sales strategies that generate profitable sales.
• Provide value-added agronomic products, services, and recommendations to patrons and prospects.
• Provide customer service using soil testing, crop scouting, precision farming and other programs.
