Job summary

South Central FS, Inc. in Sullivan, IL, is seeking a Crop Specialist to generate profitable sales in the assigned territory through cold calling, targeted marketing, and agronomic recommendations.

This is an outside sales role focused on new and existing customers, with responsibility for product sales and delivery. The ideal candidate will have a College Degree, strong on-farm production knowledge, and a demonstrated ability to train and persistently pursue high-volume sales calls, with

Qualifications

• Must hold a College Degree.
• Strong understanding of on-farm Production practices.
• Willingness to engage in training programs and self-study.
• Persistence to maintain high sales call frequency with prospective accounts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct consistent direct sales calls on at least 20 prospective customers and cultivate existing customers in the territory.
• Drive and deliver profitable sales growth for South Central FS products and services.
• Obtain orders and contracts and assist in implementing marketing plans.
• Provide value-added agronomic products, services, and recommendations.
• Manage customer service using soil testing, crop scouting, and precision farming programs; follow up on complaints.
• Travel as needed, maintain vehicle and equipment, and comply with safety policies.
